Jimmy Page is venturing into rap. This past Friday, he uploaded a song to his website called Ramblize – a mashup of Zeppelin’s “Ramble On” and the Notorious BIG track “Hypnotize.” It’s not the first time Page has found his way into hip-hop – in 1998, he recreated his guitar parts in Kashmir for a Puff Daddy track on the Godzilla soundtrack. Joan Jett was removed from a float she was booked to perform on during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, because – she’s a vegetarian. The float represented South Dakota, a state where cattle ranching is integral to the economy. Ranchers protested when they found out that Jett is meat-free, pushing organizers to move the rocker’s performance to another float.
According to director Spike Jonze, the Arcade Fire song “Supersymmetry” was originally written for the soundtrack to his new movie, Her. Jonze says that the band were working on their latest album Reflektor at the same time as the film’s soundtrack. He and frontman Win Butler wanted the soundtrack to complement the love story of the leading man, played by Joaquin Phoenix. Her will be released December 18th, you can hear an earlier version of “Supersymmetry” during the closing credits.
