It’s been tough to watch matches as Australia isn’t exactly in the same time zone as us. A great story has been unfolding for Eugenie Bouchard at the Australian Open. She’s the first Canadian in 30 years to make a Tennis Grand Slam Final! 30 Years! It’s also been great to see that she does have some great support from some Canadians down under as well.
The sad part is something more than her excellent tennis playing is taking the spotlight from a great accomplishment. A question was asked after the match that really, probably shouldn’t have been. Could you imagine James Duthie asking Sidney Crosby this? Or someone asking one of our athletes after they won a medal this? What was asked? See the video and her answer below.
Miss Bouchard did let her Canadian show and did answer the question with some embarrassment as you just saw. So good on her for taking it the right way. She is 19 and from this great land of ours. So really it’s not a surprise that Justin Bieber was her answer. But she can do better.
This morning Taz & Jim reenacted a text conversation that RadarOnline posted online (HERE) from Justin Bieber and his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. I’m saddened that he would speak to her that way. Hear it below
Miss Bouchard we are very proud of you for what you’ve been able to accomplish at such a young age, but trust all of us when we say you can do better with your personal life (which really is none of our business!). Much, much better. We all wish you continued success.
