Yesterday, TMZ reported that Scott Weiland had been arrested in LA after stealing razors from a Rite-Aid. Apparently he was also found in possession of methamphetamine, and – get this – he had been in jail for 4 weeks before the incident!
Sure, Scott Weiland has had drug problems in the past. But there’s one little detail that cops failed to recognize: this guy was NOT Scott Weiland. He was just an average criminal who tricked police into believing he was Weiland – even providing them with the rocker’s name and date of birth instead of his own. The cops never suspected otherwise.
Fortunately, Weiland heard the TMZ report and responded with his own video, filmed in the studio where he’s currently recording with his bandmates in The Wildabouts. [You can watch it HERE.] In the video, Weiland says “I’ve actually been touring, writing and recording my new album” while the other guy, revealed as 44-year-old James Michael Hurley, served time. Finally, some good news from Weiland!
