Dear fellow Canadian, put down that fork: the maple syrup on your table could be an imposter.
Syrup fraud is alive and well in our great nation, tainting the reputation of our most delicious export. Instead of tapping the trees, collecting the sap, and boiling it, companies concoct their own mixture of sugar and water and slap a “maple syrup” label on it.
