You read that right — two people have now found records from Jack White’s old band hidden inside furniture.
Years ago, Jack White and his friend Brian Muldoon recorded two singles together under the band name the Upholsterers. At the time, White and Muldoon were working at the same company as…upholsterers. Yup.
It was rumoured that there were 100 copies of the second single, “Your Furniture Was Always Dead … I Was Just Afraid To Tell You” hidden inside the upholstery of random furniture items Muldoon worked on. Until recently, however, those records had not yet been discovered. One can speculate folks have had these pieces in their homes for years, oblivious to the treasure they’re literally sitting on!
White’s Third Man Records page now reports that two separate people have found a copy of the Upholsterers’ single. Read what the site had to say about it HERE.
