Canada, The World’s Second Best Country
The results of the world’s first Best Countries survey were just made public at the annual World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Germany took the #1 spot, Canada took #2, and the UK was #3.
How does it work? Countries are ranked by 75 factors including sustainability, adventure, cultural influence across the world, entrepreneurship and economic influence.
Canada’s best categories were citizenship and entrepreneurship, although ‘domestic challenges’ was listed as an area for improvement.
Eat it America (#4) and Sweden(#5).
How Much Netflix Are We ACTUALLY Watching?
In its’ quarterly letter sent to investors, Netflix says that 42.5 billion hours of content was streamed by members in 2015, a growth of about 29 billion hours in 2014. Looking a little closer at the metrics, we can say that each subscriber spent approximately 568 hours watching Netflix on average, 63 more hours each than 2014. In 2015, 450 hours worth of original programming launched on Netflix.
Chris Rock and The Oscars
Chris Rock is supposed to host the Oscars Febraury 28th, but many Hollywood names are asking him to boycott the awards. He would be in the good company of Will Smith, 50 Cent & Tyrese. For 20 actors nominated for an Academy Award, all nominees are white and it’s the second year in a row. Data shows that the number of African American actors that have won an Oscar this century has been in line with the size of the African American population, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem.

One film in question is the new addition in the Rocky franchise, Creed, with an African American hero and director. Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler aren’t up for awards, while Sylvester Stallone gets a nod for Best Supporting Actor. Straight Outta Compton was snubbed too.
