Meet James Hobson, a man from Kitchener with a bachelor in Engineering who just quit his job to pursue creating a real life exoskeleton. He says he was inspired by the Matt Damon movie Elysium and eventually build an Iron Man suit.
He’s a Hacksmith – “A hacksmith is a multi-disciplined craftsman who can fashion tools, parts or even works of art out of various materials and components — items often overlooked as “garbage” or “scraps” to the untrained eye.
Here’s one of the first tests he did with the upper body. Curling 170 pounds.
Here’s the bottom half lifting the back end of a Mini Cooper!
He joined Taz, Jim and Sherrie to talk about his invention, how it works, and who is interested in it. Oh, and also when he will starting acting like a billionaire playboy like Tony Stark.
