UFC 196 was supposed to have Conor McGregor fighting UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos, but was the main event was cancelled after Anjos broke his foot. That would have been the first time ever if McGregor won that a fighter would hold the belt in two different weight classes. Now? Nate Diaz will be his new opponent.
Dana White confirmed on SportsCenter that McGregor agreed to fight at 170 so that Diaz didn’t have to cut weight, which means he’ll be fighting above where he holds the belt by 2 classes. These two also have one hell of a history.
