Earth Hour & Earth day are coming up, Prime Minister Trudeau is participating in some serious talks about climate change and a national energy program…and then there’s us. We now have a responsibility, more than ever, to try and be good to mother earth. More than just the recycle, re-use, reduce thing…
What I just read about a recent Whole Foods product in the US just blows me away:
If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn’t need to waste so much plastic on them. pic.twitter.com/00YECaHB4D

Buying some already cooked turkey breast from Sunripe once in awhile…not the worst thing ever.
Buying minced garlic in a jar instead of the real thing…again, not the biggest deal for this gal…Although my neighbor who is a great chef would say otherwise.
Whole Foods sold already-peeled oranges. WOW. I understand that sometimes you don’t get the perfect peel, but how are we feeling about society spending a few more dollars on already peeled oranges?
Why put a fruit that comes in its own peel, in a new plastic container?
Whole Foods got the memo really fast – they’ve already stopped selling already peeled oranges. But have they actually learned anything? History seems to repeat itself…
This from the same grocery store that put asparagus in water and slapped a $5.99 pricetag on it in August 2015, guess how many sticks of asparagus in the water? THREE LOUSY ASPARAGUS STICKS!!! $5.99!!!!
Anyway…my point is, we’re better than that. Peel your own oranges. By all means, buy asparagus, and THEN put a few sticks in water, if you really desire that taste? (weird if you ask me)
