Today is the third and last day of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s visit to Washington. Some highlights from last night’s State Dinner:
Obama brought up Trudeau’s 60 minutes interview which aired earlier this week – in opening remarks he made a crack about one of Trudeau’s jobs in the past:
“We intend to have fun tonight. But not too much…If things get out of hand, remember that the prime minister used to work as a bouncer.”
Here’s another from Obama:
“We thought of serving up some poutine. I was going to bring a two-four. And then we’d finish off the night with a double-double…But I had to draw the line at getting milk out of a bag…This, we Americans do not understand.”
He also called Justin Bieber, “the most popular Canadian named Justin.” BURN!! Trudeau followed up with
“Leave it to a Canadian…to reach international fame with a song called ‘Sorry.'”
After touching on cross-border trade, Syria and climate change, the closing line of Trudeau’s speech was:
“May my grey hair come in at a much slower rate than yours!”
