A Timely, Federal 4/20 Announcement
Early this morning, the Trudeau government went back to one of their bigger campaign promises – Health Minister Jane Philpott…ha ha Phil-pot…announced this country will introduce legislation to begin the process of legalizing and regulating marijuana this time next year.
And how’s this for some gnarly 420 timing…a new Angus Reid survey says 68 percent of Canadians feel pot should be legal. Nearly 65 % feel that legalizing it will do more good than harm.
1,522 people were surveyed across Canada… From AM980:
With that being said, analysts found 54 per cent of those polled felt it was one of the least important issues facing Canada. Adding to that, the institute found many of those surveyed are nervous about making marijuana too readily available with 41 per cent saying the drug should be legalized, but tightly controlled by the government.
5 Songs at 5 – 4/20 Edition
Looking for your suggestions for today’s 5 @ 5 theme – songs with that 4/20 feel.
Hey Tommy Chong was just in Ann Arbor Michigan for Michigan University’s annual Hash Bash with about 8,000 of his closest friends supporting marijuana use.
More from The Cannabist:
“I’ll tell you how cannabis really helped me, and it can help everybody — it gave me an appetite for food, which is really an appetite for life,” said actor-musician Tommy Chong who returned to the 45th annual Hash Bash Saturday.
Chong, 77, told the crowd how marijuana kept his appetite healthy during prostate and rectal cancer treatments.
“Because if you want to die, quit eating. You will die,” he said. “We need food. And the one thing that cannabis does, it gives you the munchies, and thank God for the munchies.”
In the meantime, might as well learn…
