Baseball's Best Walk-Up Songs
FM96 is crazy about baseball, especially with Boss Brad, Taz & myself playing softball with Forest City Sports and Social Club! We’re having a blast thus far and you should consider joining a team for next season @ http://fcssc.ca/. Turns out, for a recreational ball league, players are pretty serious. Shout outs to the team we played for Game 1 because they had walk-up music for each player which inspired us to do the same…that’s part of the inspiration for today’s 5 @ 5 which will be 5 of the best walk-up songs in major league baseball, as requested by you, with a little help from the list below. There’s another great excuse to talk baseball on the show today…
The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in St. Mary’s Ontario is getting ready for their 2016 induction week with tons of events and celebrations beginning Thursday night.
Take a look at the songs below and make a request for the 5 @ 5, feel free to make a suggestion for a song that you haven’t seen in this list too! Tweet @FM96Rocks using the hashtag #WalkUpSongs or call 519.643.9696.

Josh Donaldson - Phil Collins, In the Air Tonight
Starting with some of our Toronto Blue Jays walk-up songs, third-baseman Josh Donaldson has more than one walk-up song but this is a favourite, what a killer tune to get pumped for your at-bat!
Check out some of the other Blue Jays walk-up songs HERE.
Brett Cecil - Avenged Sevenfold, Shepherd of Fire
Jays Pitcher Brett Cecil walks out to Avenged Sevenfold’s Shepherd of Fire:
Drew Storen - Johnny Cash, Gods's Gonna Cut You Down
Jays Pitcher Drew Storen has a couple of walk-out songs including Johnny Cash’s God’s Gonna Cut You Down & Beastie Boys’ Paul Revere.
J.A. Happ - Rage Against the Machine, Testify
Pitcher J.A. Happ walks out to some Rage Against the Machine, YES man!
Michael Saunders - Notorious B.I.G., Hypnotize
Jays left-fielder Michael Saunders goes old-school with Notorious B.I.G. Hypnotize .
R.A. Dickey - Game of Thrones Theme
Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey went with some dramatic music for his walk-out music this year…the Game of Thrones theme song!
Troy Tulowitzki, Ace of Base
While Tulo’s been walking up using Jay-Z’s Public Service Announcement often at Rogers Centre, when he was with the Rockies he used this classic:
Tony Sanchez - Disney's Frozen Theme
Back in 2014, Tony Sanchez (now part of the Toronto Blue Jays) was using Disney’s Frozen theme when he played with the Pirates. Amazing! Zach Walters from the Cleveland Indians has also used this one.
Hunter Pence - Circle of Life, The Lion King
Speaking of Disney, Giants right-fielder has used Elton John’s Circle of Life before, from the Lion King soundtrack!
Josh Reddick - WHAM! Careless Whisper
It doesn’t get funnier than this. First, used as a joke by Oakland outfielder Josh Reddick, Zack Grienke used it with the L.A. Dodgers too!
Chase Utley - Led Zeppelin's Kashmir
What a great riff to walk out too, damn! Dodgers second-baseman Chase Utley uses this one, and how awkward is THIS, his teammate and pitcher Scott Kazmir uses it when walking up to the mound too. Does he get first dibbs because of his last name?
Josh Johnson - Disturbed, Down with the Sickness
Marlins pitcher, Josh Johnson, who’s always injured…uses this one, ironically.
Mariano Rivera - Metallica, Enter Sandman
Mariano Rivera has used Metallica’s Enter Sandman since 1999 and the Yankees won’t let another player use it ever again!
Gordon Beckham - Metallica, Seek and Destroy
He’s with the Braves now, but when Gordon Beckham was with the White Socks, he rocked a pretty sweet Metallica entrance song.
Prince Fielder - A Siren...
Chicago Cubs first baseman, Anthony Rizzo, is known for his walk-up songs. This year he’s using:
In the past, he’s used:
Brian Wilson - House of Pain, Jump Around
When Brian Wilson pitched for the Giants, he walked out to House of Pain. Pretty sweet.
Jonathan Broxton - Black Sabbath, Iron Man.
Broxton used this song with both the Royals and now with the Cardinals for his 2016 pitching season.
Chipper Jones - Ozzy Osbourne, Crazy Train
Chipper Jones spent his entire career playing third for the Atlanta Braves and he owes some of his 19-year success with the team to Ozzy’s Crazy Train.
