Flashback to a time when the “forefather of heavy metal” was struggling with sobriety and working with a brand new team, yet somehow managed to release one of the most successful albums of his solo career. Ozzy Osbourne released No More Tears 25 years ago on September 17th, 1991.
While the title track was written when he was drunk off his face, he was five months sober by the time the record was complete. Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister gets a songwriting credit on four songs including Mama I’m Coming Home, and Zakk Wylde gets the credit co-writing on every song on the album that was certified quadruple platinum in 2000.
Ozzy called the tour the NO MORE TOURS retirement tour at one point, saying he’d be done touring because he broke his ankle on stage…that didn’t last long though. He was back with the Retirement Sucks tour with Ozzmosis by 1996.
