Looking back, it was this week in 2007 that Red Hot Chili Peppers took American TV network Showtime to Court over the name of their new show, Californication. Featuring David Duchovny, the show ran from August 2007 to June 2014 following the life and times of Hank Moody.
Red Hot Chili Peppers claimed the title was, “…immediately associated in the mind of the consumer” with its 1999 album and single release.” Anthony Kiedis described Californication as “the signature CD, video and song of the band’s career”.
