TASTES GREAT.. and it was FILLING!
To say the 1st FM96 Beertown Tasting Party was a success, would be an understatement.
The Reviews speak for themselves: “Mmmm”, “Huzzah!”, “Good Time Had by ALL!”, “Is that MY Beer?”
All direct quotes from me. But many of the lucky/thirsty/hungry FM96 Listeners were in FULL agreeance.
As was Mark Cameron, as was our Promotions Coordinator Chelsea, as was her Husband Eric…
A special “Thank YOU” to Tom & the AMAZING Staff/Chefs/Beer Crew at Beertown for Hosting such a SMASHING Shindig.. as well as 4 of our BEST Local Brewers.

Evan takes WAY better pics than I do, follow @Beertownph on Instagram/Twitter and YOU WILL DROOL!
1st Course – Anderson’s Cream Ale (London), paired with Slow BBQ’d Pork Belly Taquitos & Maple/Chili Beer Nuts
What the tasting notes say: Straw-Coloured, unfiltered Cream Ale with a smooth body and creamy head. 4.8% ABV, 24 IBU.
What Baker’s Tastebuds say: Perfect Kick-Off Beer when you want something that’s not overly heavy but full-flavoured to match with a handful of spicy nuts and a tiny Taquito that packs a powerful Punch.
2nd Course – Forked River’s Raspberry Mojo Rhubarb Wheat (London), paired with House-Smoked Salmon Roll, Devilled Dungeness Crab Egg & Pickled White Anchovy Crostini.
What the tasting notes say: For a limited time they added Raspberries to their popular American Wheat Beer – increasing both colour and fragrance, paired perfectly with the slight tartness of the Rhubarb. 4.5% ABV, 23 IBU.
What Baker’s Tastebuds say: All I could think about was Mmmm Patio Season! Mmmm Summer! It was a match-made-in-heaven with the light & refreshing trio of Seafood delicacies.
3rd Course – Railway City’s Express Session Lager (St Thomas), paired with Hay Roasted Pork Neck.
What the tasting notes say: This India Session Lager features complex hops & fruity notes, with a crisp and light malty background. 4.8% IBV, 18 IBU.
What Baker’s Tastebuds say: At this point, I’m in the mood for something with a touch of bitterness, that’s not overpowering to go with the melt-in-your-mouth Pork. This Lager helped achieve that goal, and I’m happier for it.
4th Course – Cowbell’s Cinnamon & Cardamom Tripel (Blyth), paired with Flourless Chocolate Gateau.
What the tasting notes say: Brewed with the aforementioned spices and fermented with a fruity and spicy Belgian Yeast, it’s conditioned slowly for 4 months, producing bold and balanced flavours.. 11% IBV, 19 IBU.
What Baker’s Tastebuds say: Another Tasty selection from their ‘Renegade Series’. Cowbell knocks it out of the Park yet again with a Belgian-style Beer that begs for a rich, velvety dessert. Just sit back, loosen the belt, and savour the flavor!
