A Tennessee family rescued a sick squirrel. Took him in. Made him comfortable. Like any Disney movie there comes a time when you must release the precious animal back into the wild where it belongs.
As the family released the squirrel their tom cat decided he had enough. Enough of watching his family care for an outside creature. His jealousy took over. Some might call it animal instinct. He had to have it. He needed it. There was no way Tom was not eating squirrel for lunch.
As Tom scurried away with his new precious. He must have had a change of heart. He decided it must in turn be a present for the family and left the squirrel by the front door. The poor little squirrel died a few days later form whatever it was initially sick from. Not from the cat.
Turns out Tom wasn’t jealous at all. He loved little “Hoss” (The squirrels name) He knew Hoss needed more attention and wasn’t going to let him run off to die in a tree somewhere. He quickly snatched Hoss from the tree before he hurt himself and delivered him home.
