Winter weather is to blame for more 14 collisions in the Woodstock area over a 24 hour time period.

Oxford County O.P.P says from 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon, to 4 p.m. yesterday, they investigated 14 crashes in the Woodstock area.

Of the 14 collisions, 11 were reported on area roadways, with one fatal crash. Three crashes required EMS to transport the occupants to the hospital for minor injuries, while three other crashes happened on the 401 highway, and resulted in minor damage.

Police say numerous vehicles also landed in the ditch as a result of the weather.

OPP say drivers need to be reminded to slow down, follow at a safe distance during snowy conditions, and adjust their speed according to the weather conditions.
