The issue of Manhunt

Manhunt 2 is a video game by Rockstar Games, the creators of the Grand Theft Auto series. This week, it was announced that Manhunt 2 is banned by two countries and faces a ratings controversy in the United States.

In the US, the video game industry's self-regulated ratings board has given the game an "adults only" rating. The ESRB's most stringent rating would likely doom sales as Wal-Mart and other major chains; don't carry adult-only rated games. Nintendo and Sony, also bar any AO rated content on their systems.

This creates a problem for a major video game! Do they present an appeal to the suggested rating or make changes to the game? Or keep the content as is, and deal with the outcome?

Manhunt 2 is out July 10th. ***Brent sent me this msg..."thought it interesting and worthwhile to let you know that Take Two has put Manhunt 2 on hold, and cancelled release date while they look at possibilities"***
