I'm back from vacation and time for a blog update!



I was going through the news this morning and noticed this story out of Hot Springs, Arkansas.



A dozen riders on a roller coaster spent half an hour hanging upside down - 46 metres above the ground - after a power outage shut down the attraction at the Spring & Crystal Falls amusement park.



Holy crap that would be so scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



However, something similar happened to me as kid at the water park in Wasaga Beach. We were having a family day at the McDonald's waterslides, when the park suddenly lost power.



I was probably about 12 or 13 at the time, all excited to try out these slides and go down them as fast as humanely possible! So there I was at top, had just pushed off and was on my way down to the bottom. Then all of a sudden I came to a screeching halt (screeching meaning my bum was sticking to the dry waterslide.) It's quite painful going down a slide in your bathing suit without water! What happened was the park had lost power, which in turn shut the water off! So, there I was about ¾ of the way down, sitting there with no where to go, but to crawl back to the top. Afraid of heights, eventually, I worked myself up enough courage to stand up and start walking back to the top of the slide. I thought for sure any minute the water would turn back on and down I would go flailing and screaming, until I hit the bottom! I made it back to the top ok and the power didn't come back on for hours. So, ended our family fun day.
