Thank you! I keep getting the same response from my friends about how it's unpatriotic to cheer against the only remaining Canadian team. I've still never forgiven the Sens for having Yashin ever wear their uniform, so I hope they choke and lose the next 3 straight games. Sweet, sweet justice.....

Hey Andrea,
I live in Ottawa and it's absolutely MANIA up here. I'm not really a hockey follower and to have this stuff pushed in my face was tiring at the beginning. It's changed a little. I grew up in London so I never really understood how people with NHL teams in their town could be so devoted. I now understand that it's mostly just hype. If you don't go with the flow you get totally washed away. I think if the Sens do win they'll have to shut down ALL of downtown. It's going to be

Oh I'm a hockey fan, mind you I'm not as die hard as others! Nice to see you are still listening to US over those Ottawa stations!!!!

Am I the only actual Sens fan out there?
Good for you for having an opinion! Quite frankly, I wish all the new Sens fans would just jump off the bandwagon.

You might be....haha...the question is WHY? Truth is I would like the team better with a new Captain. They have managed to score some mighty players in the past few years, but there is just something about them you can't love!

So the Sens are a "Canadian" team... whooopity doo! Andrea is exactly right by noting that there are just as many Canadian players on every other team, which is exactly the same as when Tampa beat Calgary, and exactly the same as when Carolina beat Edmonton.
Personally, I would absolutely love to see Anaheim win it all!!! And here's my "patriotic" rationality: I think Brian Burke is by far the best GM in hockey. He's a genius!! ...also Canadian!! I'm hoping that if Anaheim wins, and Burk

Way to go Corey Perry, we wish you well!!!!!!!!

Be careful, maybe he works for CISI. God knows not supporting Canada's only NHL team in their "National sport" (Lacrosse?!?) is grounds for treason here, n'est pas?

I'm not rooting for Ottawa either. Just because they're doing well does not mean everyone needs to be on the bandwagon. So they're Canadian, big deal! When World Cup '06 was on, I wasn't cheering for Italy even though I have Italian heritage. It's just a game, and they're just another team. It's not the end of the world if they lose, and if they win, go them.

Exactly. There is a reason why the NHL started advertising the "Relax. It's only a game." slogan. Aside, there are PLENTY of Canadian players on the remaining teams.

I may be Canadian, and seeing the Cup come to Canada would be nice, but I also have my pride. My pride does not allow cheering for the Ottawa Senators. Personally.. I'll cheer for Detroit (barf) or Anaheim over them.

as a pathetic and hopeless leaf fan I would rather see florida win a cup then ottawa...although without facing the leafs in the playoffs perhaps ottawa has a chance at not choking
