Leafs clean out their lockers......again

I have a question for Leafs fans? Would you rather win by luck or skill? That is what it came down to on Sunday afternoon as the NJ Devils hosted the NY Islanders in a game that would shut the Leafs out of the playoffs for a 2nd straight season. There was a moment where we all jumped out of our seats as the Devils gave the Leafs some last minute hope before eventually losing in a Shootout. You cant blame New Jersey, a team that already secured themselves a playoff spot by playing hard all year, for resting Brodeur on a meaningless game for them. In fact, until the 3rd period it didnt seem like the team had even showed up to play!

So, can you hang your playoff hopes on simply another team losing? As a team is that how you want to win is by luck? The Leafs had several opportunities to put themselves in a good playoff position prior to these past 2 games. Its too bad in retrospect they didnt make the most of the chances they had when they had them (as usual groan all Leaf fans everywhere). Yet, another season sadly comes to an end but it was exciting to watch!
