RE: Smyth traded away

Couldn't believe the teary eyed interview at the airport. Give me a break, if he really wanted to stay an Oiler for the rest of his career then bite the bullet on the money. Suck it up!!!!! Definitely not worth 5.5 million

RE: Smyth traded away

Smyth can re-sign for the begining of next year with edmonton, and they just may have one of there new high round draft pics contributeing too actually making the playoffs next year. Something they will not do this year. Why are we all so jealous to concern ourselves with what these guys make, it's free enterprise, and private dollars. RE: Smyth traded away

I think it was smart they picked 2 great prospects and still have the option july 1st to offer him a contract so in the long run they can pick young talent and get smyth back and i wouldn't be so sure that this is the plan and smyth knows it too.

RE: Bert gives the bird!

yeah..poor smythe....breaks my heart. he could've stayed in edmonton with his family, friends and the city he loves...if he had accepted $2 million less a year...and it would've helped edmonton stay under the cap to possibly sign other players to get them back to last year's cup-shape. But he put himself above his team...then talks about how upset he is. Tiniest violin.
