2007 New Rock, Nirvana goes hip hop???

Monday, January 08, 2007

Here are a list of bands with tentative new albums in the coming months.

Queens of the Stone Age

Chevelle

Courtney Love

Offspring

Linkin Park

Ozzy

NIN

Guns N Roses

Finger Eleven

Silverchair

Chris Cornell

Also, this could be interesting ...Nevermind: Chopped and Screwed By DJ Paul Wall. In late 2006, it was announced that Paul Wall was, with other Hip-Hop names, remixing the album gaining a controversial reaction from fans. The object is apparently to "Push the limits of what is accepted in music" as Vig, who also worked on the project, has stated.

Courtney Love has supported the genre-bending project saying that "This is a side of that album no one's ever seen and I think it's quite a revelation...It blew down the doors the first time it came out, and now it's going to do it again...I think it's great. People are going to be blown away by this new interpretation of the album, and the things it represents."

The remix is set for release on February 27th.

***FURTHER UPDATE: The life of Kurt Cobain may be coming to the big screen. Courtney Love recently said that a film version of the Charles Cross-penned bio, Heavier Than Heaven, is in the early stage with no script and no director as of yet. Love is currently shopping the potential film to studios. Wow, what else can she sell his estate to?????***
