December 6th anniversary

Today is the NATIONAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE and ACTION on VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. It's a day commemorated in Canada each December 6th, the anniversary of the 1989 Ecole Polytechnique Massacre in Montreal. Canadian flags on all federal buildings are flown at half mast.

Here in London, we have a strong community of people who are constantly working toward the end of violence against women. I thank these leaders for their tireless efforts. I have had the pleasure of meeting, working with and befriending a number of these women and men. I don't know where we would be without them in our community.
