Creep factor is up high with this guy.
Monday, August 21, 2006
John Mark Karr returned to the United States Sunday, where Los Angeles police detained him on a warrant from Boulder County, Colorado, after he arrived in California from Bangkok, Thailand. A helicopter brought him from the airport to the Twin Towers jail shortly before midnight in a sobering end to a day that began in Bangkok and included champagne and fine dining aboard a Thai Airways flight.
The more you follow this story, the more disturbing and bizarre it has become. Consider this, Lara Karr, one of his former wives said she was with her husband in Alabama at the time of JonBenet's killing and she does not believe he was involved in the homicide. Experts raised questions Thursday about Karr's arrest, noting some details of his alleged confession seem out of line with circumstances of the case. Wexford Karr said his son's intrigue with the Ramsey murder was the start of his troubles. That fascination began with voracious research for a college paper that so impressed a professor the man suggested he write a book. He also apparently began lengthy e-mail contact with a professor at the University of Colorado, Michael Tracey, who had investigated the Ramsey case.
So what does all of this mean? Did he really do it or is he confessing for some kind of attention, someone who is obsessed with the story. More and more the later seems true in this case.
Now investigators will rely on the e-mail, DNA gathered at the scene of the murder and Karr's own statements to determine the truth.
