What is becoming an age old question, can the Leafs do it; as in make the playoffs?
Or do they have the curse of 9th place?
2005-2006: Leafs finished 9th with 90 pts, 2 behind Tampa Bay for 8th place.
2006-2007: Leafs again finished 9th with 91 pts, 1 behind the New York Islanders for 8th place. Compare that dismal finish with Conference leaders Buffalo and Detroit, who both finished the season with 113 points. Last time the Leafs made the playoffs in the 2004 season, they finished 4th with 103 points!
As it stands (as of Monday, March 10th) the Leafs have only 70 points. They are 8 points out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the East. Another 9th or 10th place finish would be a great bet!
