Songs to check out this week:
REM “Until The Day Is Done” – pretty song off the new REM album “Accelerate.” The guitar work reminds me of “Sweetness Follows” my all time favourite REM song. This album is good and a nice throwback to their 90s material ie: Monster.
Raconteurs “Old Enough” – on first listen of the album this one caught my ear. It’s a nice blend of country and rock with simple lyrics and a hooky chorus. I really enjoy this whole album with another favourite being the lead off song “Consolers of the Lonely.”
Eddie Vedder “Society” – this is the best song off the “Into The Wild” soundtrack, although he didn’t write this one! Eddie Vedder did a brilliant job scoring this film and capturing both the dark and uplifting moments of the movie. The soundtrack and this film are both fantastic.
Jack Johnson "What You Thought You Need” – this is somewhat of a sleepy record but a perfect soundtrack to a lazy Sunday afternoon. If you like Dave Matthews, you'll love this particular song.
Radiohead "Reckoner" – this has not be released as a single off the album, but what a great track. A favourite off "In Rainbows."
