AC/DC is back and they're ready to begin their tour on Thursday in Chicago.
For the past few weeks they've been rehearsing at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Over the weekend we send FM96 Freeloader Chris Askew to the pre tour warm up show.
Here's what the band is saying about the show:
- 90-minute, 13-song set featured two songs from their new album, Black Ice, and such classics as "Highway to Hell," "Back in Black" and "T-N-T." The actual shows promise to be longer.
- Singer Brian Johnson said they did the show to iron out the technical parts, which included a train to open the show, pyrotechnics, a stage-spanning video screen, a giant blow-up "Rosie" doll and a ramp that extends into the audience -- the end of which is circular and rises 15-feet into the air with guitarist Angus Young on board. It all went off without a hitch.
- The first leg of the tour, which runs through North America, goes until January 27th in Nashville. It will include the band's two-thousandth show. When A-C/D-C began in 1974, the actual number of shows never was documented, so it's a best guess that number-two-thousand will take place on December 20th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
