Hey Chris,
Sucks that it crapped out right before you were getting GTA:IV
Anyways, my 360 got the Ring of Death not too long ago, and it took about 3 days for microsoft to send a box, and then once I sent the system back it only took like 3 or 4 days to get a new system.
Seriously, it came in like one week, with a free xbox live subscription (I know, least they can do after all the money spent on the damm thing.)
Anyways, good luck

Hey New Guy, That sucks! I know the feeling, though. I just bought Guitar Hero and then found out my PS2 has crapped out. Now I have to find somewhere other than Future Shop who will repair it, preferably for less than it would cost me to buy a new one. At least yours is getting fixed!

Every Xbox 360 will get the dreaded RROD (red ring of death) so if yours does it send it back to microsoft, don't exchange it where you bought it or your next one will too.
Every version of the system from the oldest to the newest has a reported RROD. Shotty product. And I wish I could send you to another next gen system but they're all having some unreliability issues.
So send it back to Microsoft in the coffin and check your serial number because you might not be getting your Xbox back.

congradulation your only on your first, We are not huge gamers but have all 3 consoles and are on our 4th 360, It always seems to happen when you get a new game as well. The solution playstation 3, we hardly touch the 360 anymore, and the Wii only when company is over, but the PS3 is a beast. No ring of death no overheating, younger in it's life cycle there doesnt seem to be as many things to pay for after the initial purchase either. I guess this is what happens when a software company b
