Got into this discussion on the air yesterday. What would you do if every week you recieved a paycheck from a job you did not have?
Here's the story that spawned the question...
Anthony Armatys accepted a job with telecommunications company 5 years ago. But he changed his mind and never went to work for the company. Yet a bookkeeping error meant that he started receiving regular payroll deposits into his bank account until the error was discovered in early 2007. In the end, he received about $469,000 from the company and never reported it to the company. Now he's being charged with one count of theft by deception.
I would have done the same thing. You?
