I think I have an unhealthy obsession with waterfowl..

When I see ducks in a pond or lake..I always have to stop and watch.

When I go camping in Northern Ontario…I’ll stare at the water for hours with binoculars in hopes of spotting or hearing a loon.

I thought it was just me….then one day I asked my friend about her trip up north this summer and said “Did you see any loons?”.   She responded disgustingly “What’s with guys and their obsession with loons??”.  I didn’t know we had one.   Then I noticed my boss has a huge screensaver of a Loon on his computer from his camping trip this summer.   And when I got back from my canoe trip my buddy asked me “Were there lots of loons?”.    Is this a guy-only thing?  Are loons and ducks that manly?  I don’t think so…’cause we’re the ones shooting them all the time.     When I come back in the afterlife…I wanna be waterfowl (or a buffalo).
