Now that's....ODD!

Friday, August 01, 2008

I like to use the word "odd" as a point of reference.

For example, I was once driving along a gravel road in the country north of Guelph one day and passed by an elderly couple riding a tandem bicycle, and the man had a real live parrot on his shoulder.....as i passed by all i could think was "well....that was...odd".

That's been my point of reference for "odd" ever since.  Whenever someone says "that's odd"....i always came back with "well, it's not as odd as this one time while i was driving along a gravel road in the country north of Guelph...."

However, just yesterday I found a NEW point of "odd" reference.  I have a big corner window here in my office and as I looked out dreamily of patios/beer (at 8:30 in the morning) I noticed a man and his dog on the corner of wellington and King street.   Nothing special.   That is, until i saw the man suddenly take off his shirt (he must have been really hot!)....not that odd....until i watched him then proceed to put the t-shirt on his dog!!!!   Not just draping it or tying it around the dog's neck...he actually put it's head and legs through the holes!!!    then he crossed the road and walked away.   All I could think was...."well...That was odd".

What is your point of reference for the word "odd???

Is it "odder" than a shirtless man walking a dog with a shirt on??

it would HAVE to be
