They just go together like Gin N Tonic (Must be 19 plus)

Now when i was in my prime.....i took my sports pretty seriously....I always had fun, as long we were winning.

Nowadays its a different story...I like to win...but i'd much rather have a great bunch of guys (and girls) who wanna grab a beer after (and sometimes before and during) the game!   Hence my recent Hockey Season..if you can even call it that.

I play in a great league, but the problem is, you have no choice on how good your team will be...we all sign up (many of us have played together for years) and you're randomly put on a team.   My team this year, ANAF 345, was..well crap!

We only won 2 games....and it was frustrating.  On the other hand, I wanna say that I still had a great time!  Great bunch of guys to laugh with and drink with in the dressing room, and at the bar afterwards...and to tell the truth, I'd be okay if my next season was teh same way.   

I play in 2 Slo-pitch leagues, and they're pretty much the same way.  I'm a good ball player, but I still do not really care enough about winning to cut players or yell at them or anything.

Am I just getting old?  When do you hit that point in your life when sports are more about fun than winning?  I think I've lost my competitive edge....but considering I have to stay competitive at my job, with money, and life in general....Sports is that one escape now. 

So what sports do you play?  Which ones are you still competitive at?  Or have you resigned yourself to darts n' curling (Drinking is actually part of the rules in those 2)

Win or lose...I hit the booze!  Wanna be on my team?
