An Impressive Weekend

Monday, January 28, 2008

Weekends are just too short. I think you'll agree with that. I had a jam packed one and a few things really impressed me.

My niece just turned four. She like all four year olds is full of non-stop energy. My sister brought her into London for a birthday party of sorts. We went to the London's Children’s Museum. It was my first time there and I have to say I was very impressed. There was more to do there for her and her friends than I could imagine. Everything from dinosaurs to the arctic to a bug exhibit. Needless to say she had a blast and I can see us going back there very soon. I would recommend it to anyone with a year old or in my case being an uncle for a morning.

As much fun as it is hanging out with four year olds it was nice to be able to jet down to T.O. Saturday night for the Toronto Rock game. Don't get me wrong, spending time with my niece was a blast and I love doing it. But the game was the highlight of my Saturday.  I've been a lacrosse fan for years. I even played a bit back in the day. If you've never been to a game I would suggest you go. It's reasonable pricing for tickets and it's such a great game to watch. The Rock played a terrible first half but managed to dominate in the second half and pulled out a win. Each and every time I go to a game I'm impressed by not only how good the players are but how die hard the fans are. Really if you haven't gone to a game go, it's more than worth it and I can't wait to go to the next one.

Last night (Sunday) I got the chance to see Hayden at Aeolian hall. I've seen him a few times and each time it's great! He played solo which I don't think I've ever seen a full show with just him playing. Needless to say he was great. They did record the show and who knows maybe it will become a live disc. The venue is also amazing. The sound in there is probably one of the best, if not the best place to see a show in London. They don't do many there but if you get a chance than I say you make sure to go.

All and all I was pretty impressed with the whole weekend. No time to recover from it all.
