On Tuesday Weezer releases their sixth album. "The Red Album" as it has been dubbed (really it's self titled like the other ones this one just has a red cover this time). I've had a chance to hear the full album a couple of times now. It's different for Weezer. A couple of 6 minute songs push the record to 41 minutes. With any other band that's not a big deal. But most Weezer records clock in at the 33 - 36 minute minute mark. Also it's not always Rivers singing on this one. Scott steps up to do some which is also a first. Overall I like the record. I'm sure it will be in my CD player for a while.
I also look forward to seeing Weezer once again. So far I've attended five Weezer shows. It always seems that weird things happen to me when I go to see Weezer. Once I locked my keys in the car then another time my friend cut his leg and had to tie his sock around his leg because it was spurting blood. What? we weren't leaving the show to get him stiches. Don't worry he ended up only needing a single stich. Then there was the time I went over to Detroit to the State theatre to see them. We crossed the boarder at about 7:15 or around that mark. Then Weezer played and we headed back. I think it was about 9:15 when we tried to cross the boarder back in to Canada. We were stopped like normal and asked what we were doing. We said we had gone to see a Weezer concert. The guy at the boarder didn't believe that we would have seen a show. You see Weezer concerts last about an hour and fifteen minutes. They play 17 or 18 songs and there really isn't much talk at all, If any really. There songs are pretty short so you get in and out pretty fast. We were asked to pull over and searched. They realized that we weren't smuggling drugs or anything and let us go. Just always seems like something happens to me when I hit Weezer shows. I wonder what the next adventure will be.
