RE: Sarah needs party planning advice

When their just turning one, have an afternoon kid party with all the other couples you know with lil toddlers and kids. Then when they get shipped off to bed (at like what 7?!?) have a party with all the relatives that came down. So like a BBQ, bon fire, complete with drinks. This is what my sis in law did for her lil girl when she turned one, and it was awesome. Actually fun for adults, and still fun for the lil kid.

RE: Sarah needs party planning advice

Hey Sarah! We recently celebrated our son's 1st birthday, and it was a small bbq with family and friends which turned out great! As far as your family living far away, I mean if they want to be there to celebrate her 1st birthday it's up to them right? You shouldn't feel pressured to put on a huge show for everyone, my in-laws drove 5 hours to come for the party and loved it! We cooked a huge pork leg and had some people that offered, to bring sides, so we didn't have to do all the work! And as

RE: Sarah needs party planning advice

Don't worry so much about it Sarah. I find the best parties are the ones that are casual simple BBQ's. Really, if you planning on inviting friends the party is just as much for you and them as it is for your baby girl. You and your friends don't care if its extravagant. They are just there to see you and the babe and chit chat and eat some food. All your baby really needs to have an awsome first birthday is a cake made especially for her that she can destroy and smear all over heself. Thats what

RE: Sarah needs party planning advice

for my son's first birthday, we had about 30 people, and it was hosted at our campground. But we had a kids inflatable pool, water guns, 2 cakes (1 with the birthday greeting, 1 for just satisfying the rest of the guests), 2 bags of party hats, 2 cases of beer, 2 cases of pop, 2 veggie trays, and 4 bags of chips. Total cost of about $150. Set the party time for about 2 hours (it'll definately run late), but it worked perfect with only about an hour of running around pre-party planing with s

Wow...1 year old...a youngin'... Am I invited? I don't think she'll be let down if you didn't make a big deal of her first b-day party...just don't tell her about it I think that you should bring n those clowns when she's 4....I remember at my co-op placement, I was at a daycare and they brought a clown in to the daycare...the 4 year olds loved it...the ones younger than that were scared

RE: Sarah needs party planning advice

Earlier this month, I attended the 4th birthday party of my future niece (she will be my niece circa one month from now), and this was the biggest of the four. On her first birthday, they just did the small family bruhaha, had a barbeque in their back yard, and didn't do all too much. The most we did was probably a walk in the park. The 2nd birthday was a little bigger. The 3rd was bigger still, and this year's was the biggest, both in number of people and activities. I think it's good if you st
