T&T want to conserve more!!!

With this weekends Live Earth festivities&this seems like a good topic to cover&

In this mornings free press&there is an article about how a city committee is looking at a weight reduction on the garbage you leave out on the curb&.right now you can have 4 bags at 60 pounds each&but collectors want that reduced to four bags at 44 pounds each&.That means a significant reduction in the amount of waste you can put out on garbage day&

Hey&Im all for cutting down, but my question is&.. where will the extra trash go????&the logical thought would be&Well, we can just recycle more but that proves to be harder than youd think&

I am continually amazed when I come home on trash collection day to find what I thought were recyclable items strewn on my front lawn&apparently rejected by the collectors&

Its frustrating&so many cartons and plastic containers that seem to be totally reusable are not accepted by the city of London&.I think that its a major problem&

if they want us to cut down on our trash&then they have to give us the option to put more out as recycling&that is a program I think the city should be more focused on!



What do you think??? Should we just put up and give them a break &collectors have hard jobs???& or do you think we shouldnt cut back on our garbage amounts until we have a suitable place for the extra garbage to go???
