The calls you were receiving today are perfect examples of what is going wrong with society today. To have so many uncaring, unfeeling.unsympathetic people in this world is a sad commentary on how they look at life and the world around them.I feel bad if I hit a bird with my car,and a small animal is even worse.
Even if the cat was a stray,it still is ,or was,a living thing.
There was nothing else you could do,and if the cat ran off,it probably went off to hide and die-which is what they d

Install ceiling fans in the bedrooms - it is "said" this will cut down on the need for the AC to work overtime and will help the bedrooms seem cooler at night time

I live in a 2 bedroom townhouse with no air - it gets pretty warm upstairs. But, you'd be amazed at what a difference it makes simply keeping the curtains/blinds closed and shutting the place up during the day time/hot hours. I open it up at night - if it cools down, and while I am getting ready for work in the morning when it's nice & cool. There have only been a few days over the whole summer when the place was unbearably warm, and then a couple of fans sufficed.

I live outside a small town in the country belive it or not closeing the bilnds does work. Might i also add that cealling fans and floor fans work just as well. Turn off the A/C at night and turn on a fan saves hydro! Something i enjoy.

Keeping Cool:
In addition to the previously mentioned:
If you have central air conditioning, the most important accessory would be a programmable thermostat. The price and availability of these units has improved dramatically in the past few years, to the point where you can't afford not to have one. The best part is that you can have the air turn on only when you are going to be around/need it. I have it set to 32 C from the time I leave work until 15 minutes before I come home, when it d

two other ways are: buy a FAN for 10-30$$ or pay 5 max & go to a pool, not all people can afford a new a/c unit and most who can are so stingey they dont want to.
Easy, right?

Hey Tucker, Taz and Sarah!
Here are some sweet tips on how to keep cooler in the summer.
-Only 5% of a lightbulb causes light, the other 95% is all heat...so what do you do...TURN OFF THE LIGHT! It not only saves energy, but you'll feel the difference in your home's temperature!
-Avoid soft drinks and iced tea as they dehydrate you. Rehydrate yourself with some water.
-Wear loose fitting clothes. Avoid wearing the colour black. Cotton is the best!
-Take a cold shower before you go
