Depending on the time of year and the temperature outside it makes sense, but it can go too far. I used to be addicted to video games, but that's what happens to me most winters. It's just because I have nothing better to do. Don't be too strict, but don't be lenient either, settle somewhere inbetween.

Online games are an excellent socilization tool for many people. It is no different to being on a recreational sports team or other social club. There are even professional leagues for gamers that offer substantial prizes and money. However there has to be a line drawn with acceptable time spent playing a game.
