There is this big controversy brewing over the redesign of the Thames pool here in London... At 50 meters, it's one of the biggest outdoor pools in the province...The plan is to cut the length in half to 25 meters, add a splash pad and make it wheel chair accessible. There are a surprising number of people who selfishly want the pool to stay the way it is now so they can swim laps. I would be interested in knowing how many people are using the pool this way versus how many families would use the splash pad, or how many disabled people would like to use the Thames facilities that can't right now. I think this is a case of a few people trying to dictate to the masses. I, for one hope that the city redesigns the pool so that ALL Londoners can use it!
What do you think…should we leave this one pool for the swimmers or change it so everyone can take advantage??
