This morning we were talking about the huge student brawl that happened near Fanshawe over the weekend. I was appalled to read that people who where outside when the police arrived started throwing beer bottles at the responding officers. I know there are two sides to every story but in this case…THERE IS NO EXCUSE…I know I’m going to get the usual “cops suck and deserved it for breaking up an innocent party” e-mails but I stand by the fact that the police are there for YOUR protection…They have to break up parties like these because clearly these knobs can’t take care of themselves and if they hadn’t been there, who know what else could have happened…People die when alcohol is mixed with adrenaline. I think that a lot of people need to have more respect for the men and women of the London police force that are out every night protecting us (from others, but a lot of times ourselves!) and to try and intentionally injure someone that is there HELPING you. These people need to be charged with more than just public intoxication of resisting arrest, they should have to do a ride along with these officers to see just what crap they have to deal with on a daily basis and maybe they would think twice!
