This is one of the times that I love being here in London…All this week it’s the International Comedy Awards and Festival and a ton of really great comics are in town showing off their best material. I think that being genuinely funny is a very hard talent to come by…just as with musicians….it’s all subjective…some people think you are good and some people…not so much…. Also what I think sets comedians apart is the fact that are forced to have thick skins…being heckled is a kind of rite of passage for any comic…but it’s gotta suck…being told in a room full of people that your set sucks and you should sit down ( that’s not really what hecklers say…they are MUCH cruder…but for the sake of the censors….)…When was the last time someone called Chris Martin out for not hitting the high note…or Dave Grohl for missing a note…it doesn’t happen… I think that comedians and comedy in general are totally underrated…SO….. if you are wondering what to do on a Saturday night…all of us should get up off the couch and head down to the local comedy club and support some of the hardest working people in show business
