This morning I was reporting on the story of the couple from Caledon Ont who won the 649 lottery over the weekend and pocketed a cheque for 18 million…good for them right??? I say NOT…turns out that within the SAME hour they had won 18 grand at Casino Rama and happened to check their 6-49 ticket on the way home from Rama….Winning 2 big jackpots in ONE hour…I think there should be rules against this sort of thing…I have compiled a list that I hope people playing the lotto will abide by…it’s up to you…but if you break said rules…I will boo your win and not be happy for you one bit!
Here goes…You shouldn’t be able to win a lotto jackpot if:
1) you are a senior citizen (old..not just past middle aged…really old..old) AND you have no family or close friends to speak of and the likelihood of you leaving 35 million to your cat Melvin is very high…YOU ARE OUT OF THE LOTTO
2) You have won more than 250 thousand dollars in a jackpot before (my only exception to this is that you won that money in a charity (hospital foundation type) of lottery…if you have…play away…they need your money…if it was won in a 6-49 or Super 7 type draw…YOU ARE OUT OF THE LOTTO…greedy
3) You make more than 100 thousand dollars a year…you are ALREADY rich…don’t tempt fate…the exception to this is if you get fired and are no longer making 100 grand or more…you can play the lotto until such time as you find employment…BUT if at that time…you again make more than 100 thousand dollars…YOU ARE OUT OF THE LOTTO!
