“gold….gold….gold…” says the ominous voice over a creepy music bed at QOTSA.com.
Last week I was telling you about the Reno, Nevada radio DJ that had the chance to listen to a new Queens of the Stone Age song. He said it had a sexy groove and that we’d get it in about two weeks.
My contact said radio gets the single in 2 weeks. 🤘🏻— Chris Payne (@deftonesfreek) June 4, 2017
Well…those tweets happened about two weeks ago…and there is some strange and wonderful activity going on at Queens of The Stone Age’s website. Tuck around on the website, click some things….there appears to be a few Easter eggs buried in the 1s and 0s.
There are also stickers and phrases throughout the landing page. “Reclaim Everything,” “Askew,” “Mumbo Jumbo,” “Tuuti Fruuti,” “Enteen,” “It’s a Beautiful Day in the USA,” “1976 Evil,” “Gold Standard.” Are these song titles, lyrics, hints toward the artwork design?
There are a few words scratched out and also half buried in the sand at the bottom of the TV.
If you change the channel of the TV, you get some white noise and snow effects… but maybe also other hints.
“All My Confusion if Waving Goodbye” while the sounds of clinking breaks through the fuzz.
